Winter Greenhouse

Hello everyone,

I have recently started doing some winter veggie gardening. I've found from a few sites that we can grow veggies such as broccoli, brussel sprouts, and a few others in a cold greenhouse with no problems. Has anyone else ever done this? I'm so excited to hear about your winter time yields!

Yes! Are you gonna try out cool season veggies and flowers in a cold-frame or a larger poly/plastic hoophouse?

Just remember, depending on where you live, that the winter sun can still get a coldframe or greenhouse fairly toasty if you do not amply ventilate it and then close up shop overnight.

I would like to try any suggestions. What type of crops have you grown through the winter. I only have a small enthusiast greenhouse, but it does the job. I'm sure it will be growing in the years to come though.

I hope it ia not too late to comment here ~ I went the our local "Home Improvement" center today, ( I am in Zone 8 Southern California), and found the following veggie plants available: Beets, Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts, Cabbage, Carrots, Cauliflower, Peppers, Squash & Tomatoe. There were also alot of Herbs and the new seed packets along with Bulbs were out.

Hope that helps.
