All In One Autumn Decor and Seed

It's back to school season, which is followed closely by decorative Indian corn in the supermarket.  Now is the time to harvest your seed for next year while its fresh, cheap, and there's a lot of selection.

            Strawberry Popcorn

Of all the Indian corns in the market, I love the smaller popcorn types becasue their needles turn rock hard yet glow with color.  These plants are far less demanding than the big midwestern colored corns such as Bloody Butcher.

           Mini Blue Popcorn

The beauty of growing this corn is that you get to enjoy it in your fall decor, then remove the seed and store it in airtight jars for the winter.  Plant next year as you would seed corn, but be sure to separate colors and strains.  Otherwise they'll cross pollinate and you'll be right back to the multicolored speckles.

These are very cool. 'Bloody Butcher'?! I guess that was named by a horror film fan.
