Ash Wednesday, 2009
You may have no interest in the musings of a grumpy Ohio gardener, but I thought I would start a blog anyway. Perhaps the act of blogging will become cathartic therapy sessions for me. Not for you, probably.
Let me set the stage a bit by stating that I'm the Content Director for this site, Learn2Grow, and am routinely teased by my colleagues for sounding like Eeyore on our conference calls. Here's an Eeyore quote you might hear coming from me:
"It's snowing still," said Eeyore gloomily.
"So it is."
"And freezing."
"Is it?"
"Yes," said Eeyore. "However," he said, brightening up a little, "we haven't had an earthquake lately."

Now it isn't so much that I'm gloomy and mean - just a tad morose, as my mother's people tend to be. Their Pennsylvania Dutch motto was "Life is hard. You work hard. Then you die." That pretty much sums it up. Of course my father's family were always living in the clouds, flighty chirping birds without a care in the world and one step ahead of the tax collector. At least that's what Mom always said. So I guess I'm a somewhat schizophrenic hybrid of the two.
Maybe it's more that we are the Critical Family, as my sister the therapist likes to say. Nothing is ever perfect but we at least try. Our motto should be Vini Viti Venti: we came, we saw, we complained about it.
So that pretty much sets the stage for my grumpy garden musings to come. Aren't you excited?! Stay tuned...
