I love to garden, because.... it is good mental and physical therapy. I love to see plants grow and thrive. I like to share the beauty with others as we are on a highway and people can enjoy them from the road. It is also a challenge. I like to design my gardens. Also I like to put surprises in the gardens like a dancing girl in the pansies.
Biggest Gardening Challenge Energy, physical ability and time.
If I'm not gardening, I can be found: reading, working on genealogy and family stories,

The Gardens by the Side of the Road/Thankful

Tuesday, November 17, 2009, 09:16 PM EST [General]

I thought Carol had such a good idea writing about being thankful and I thought maybe I could write a little about being thankful but cannot write a poem.

I am thankful for variety:

People who design gardens in all different kinds of ways so we can only express our delight and wonder and it gives us courage to try our own ideas.

People who work with plants and develop new varieties, colors and disease resistance.

People who save varieties of plants that might be lost if not for their efforts and bring so much variety into our gardens.

People who work hard every day to grow the food we eat.

People who show us how to use the mundane and found objects to make our gardens beautiful and those who make expensive and beautiful objects.

People who have the gift to write and teach us to garden.

People who have the gift of photography and show us the beautiful pictures of this wonderful world of plants and trees.

People who share what they have with others who do not have as much.

Thank you one and all!

That was written like a Pro!

I am thankful for an outlet such as this to share ideas, meet friends and learn.

Dot, how beautiful and lyrical! Yes, we have lots to be thankful for. I am inspired by your thoughts. The Minquass tribe proverb rings true to me after reading your poem “If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies in yourself.”
