I have been dealing w/snails for past 3 years. I bought a home built in 1941 and it's got an established colony of snails, front and back. Tried the usual granules, coarse sand, litter, etc. but I can't seem to get rid of them and I'm talking ALOT of snails.....I have a dog so really poisonous materials are a no-no....They leave most of my established foundation plants alone but my potted or more delicate plants take a beating...I can't even pick them all, , I probably have hundreds of them little critters, big ones, baby ones...There's not enough butter sauce and French neighbors to help me eliminate them.. Any suggestions??

I understand that you have used coarse sand. Have you tried diatomaceous earth? You probably know this already, but it is small (sand to pebble size), volcanic-type material with sharp edges that injur or repel snails. Not poisonous to pets.
