I have potted gardenias on my patio - Do I need to bring them inside to survive the winter. Average lowest temperature in winter is 10 - 20 degrees.

dalbarico,
No, you don't need to bring them indoors in your zone, but it's important that they are not subjected to cold, drying winter winds. If sited in full sun, make sure they are watered so the root ball is never bone dry. Also, if the temps are to dip into the mid teens, since they are in containers, I'd bring them in temporarily into the garage and bring them back out after the nasty cold snap. Thank you! Appreciate your help - My first time trying Gardenia's, would be wonderful to have them still next year! Happy Thanksgiving!
