I'm planning to add more conditioner in that area. Where I live, the soil is hard and clay like. So I would rather loosen up the soil a bit.

Yes, I feel the same way but today I shopped for Valentine's day stuff. It is not very far away.......

That's right. They changed it rather recently. I prefer Quail, but oh, well.

Well, we went out and bought a digital camera and now for the technically challenged brain to learn how to use it. We got a Canon Power Shot ELPH. It is very small which is nice to carry with as it is not heavy but a little difficult to hang on to with these old fingers. Now to learn how to do all the things like go to groc store and print photos etc.

    Hey Jamie,
That's a good question about the pomegranates and artichokes. They'd certainly last longer dried, but I bet they can be sprayed fresh. Pomegranates have a crazy long shelf life. The magnolia cones are a great idea. Think I know where I can find some. I've lots of contorted filbert branches too. They're lovely sprayed and sparkled.

BTY to juice a pomegranate just cut it in half and juice it like an orange. An electric juicer works best. I agree that the seeds are a pain to pick through. The juice makes mighty fine cocktails though.

thanks for your suggestion. I meant to say mulch. Californian soil at least up here in the north is hard as clay. So what I need is something to loosen up the soil.

Thanks. The last two photos were taken in northern West Virginia. No, Columbus is not that hilly.

Thanks for info. I have a 35 mm film camera and have been thinking about a digital camera for years but never got quite brave enough to actually buy one. Of course now that our film processing costs twice what it did a year ago, I am thinking more about it. I have a scanner that I use to get pics on line. I use it for copying genealogy documents also.

    Thank you Jamie,
I really wasn't aware that mums had any smell. I have a very weak sense of smell, and any smell has to be pretty pungent in order for me to smell it. Thanks for the reply. B.
