Will let you know how this works out. I've had bird feeders for years, but this is my first attempt at houses. Chickadees are busy at the Wren house, so I think they are nesting. Haven't seen activity with the "hair" supply yet, but don't watch it closely so they could be pulling from it.

It's still unusually cold for March in NC so it's delightful to watch the birds busy planning for Spring.

I'm off to Pennsylvania for three days...will keep an eye open for a special Wren house since this one has been so popular. Send some positive vibes my way for the Bluebirds! I don't have a park nearby, so am hoping my lawn will do...

Lots and lots of people will be cleaning up their yards and removing damaged plants. Fortunately I removed all my plants from the backyard last summer. So I have bare dirt in my yard.

I have ordered sod to be installed. But first they have to remove some excess dirt and grade out the yard to improve the drainage.

My local nursery opened today and I went to browse plants/shrubs. There was a huge truck being unloaded at the nursery.

Then I celebrated by buying and eating a Cadbury Egg. Yum.

So glad to get your reply. I have spent hours and hours on the internet looking at Walnut toxicity articles, etc. I will look up the plants you mentioned.

I have seen the Morton website and I printed it out. I have made a little bit of progress in the past few days. My landscaping plan in taking shape! What fun!

Love the Longwood Gardens display this Christmas: blog.jessiekeith.com/2009/12/02/brandywi...

I remember Longwood used to spray paint either magnolia cones or leaves and also did something kinda neat with pomegranates and artichokes.

In the grocery store last week, they were selling these softball-sized pomegranates for .50 apiece, and the only thing I could think of was using em for Christmas, cuz I don't know how to juice a pomegranate, and I'm not fond of the seeds and pulp core for eating.

Plus, do you have to dry pomegrantates and artichokes before used on Christmas garlands, et. al.?
