Stella ran into the road in front of our house on Monday and was killed.
Our emotions are still really raw, we have grieved in private and grieved together. Last night we talked about how she entered our lives so quickly and unexpected and how she left our lives the same way.
She discovered that she could climb a tree and go way up high. High enough that Jay had to get an extension ladder to get her down, I was holding onto the bottom of the ladder and freakin out! Not only because Stella was in the tree but, because I was afraid Jay would fall off the ladder trying to get her down.
We buried her under that tree and I am going to plant a Stella Doro daylily for her little grave.
She was only about 4 months old, we were fortunate to find her after she had been abandoned in a field. We gave her love and she so often returned it.
It is hard to lose a family pet.
