    Last couple of days cleaning up back yard 4

    Since my house is on the corner my back yard is easily seen, so I have come up with something new to try and make the backyard look a little better. I have my 3 trailers so to help make make the area better and to have them not stand out as much. I am going to gravel in area where the trailers sit (help the tires from dry rotting) and have the gravel o over to the raised flower bed. Then have container arching around and in front of the trailers. You will still see the trailers but maybe with the gravel and plants in containers it will draw your eye more then the trailers and I can just pick up the containers and move them when I need to get to trailer.

    Before side view

    Some plants and containers I have already gotten. They will all grow taller, 3-5ft tall
    ..."try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_fUNytIcRAS8/SvHCJrDmRHI/AAAAAAAALjc/O4hRLbi73QA/s1600-h/photo3.jpeg">

    Now think about all the plants and containers going all the way to the fence and gravel under the trailers. Like you see a lot of small yards with gravel and container gardens on the gravel.

    Another thing I did which I have really been thinking about an the easiest is adding a flower bed next to the carport on the yard side.

    Before
    ..."try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_fUNytIcRAS8/SvG-K8gHwXI/AAAAAAAALik/wj_MQ_PWZl8/s1600-h/photo.jpeg">

    Took down the small fence. I'm going to put t back up at the end before adding plants.
    ..."try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_fUNytIcRAS8/SvG-KlRjLpI/AAAAAAAALic/hgOeM-2y5Oo/s1600-h/photo2.jpeg">

    I got my weedeater out and trimmed the area out to get a idea of the area.
    ..."try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_fUNytIcRAS8/SvG-Kds6_sI/AAAAAAAALiU/ouW0a86BTHw/s1600-h/photo3.jpeg">

    Then I tilled up all the area that is going to be a new flower bed. I seems to be great soil in that area. Also I made sure to go out enough so when rain comes off the carport it will go into the flower bed, which means less watering I have to do
    ..."try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_fUNytIcRAS8/SvG-KP2PmTI/AAAAAAAALiM/ZZJZu40akRA/s1600-h/photo4.jpeg">

    ..."try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_fUNytIcRAS8/SvG-JpCyVPI/AAAAAAAALiE/iQ06NAvHXus/s1600-h/photo5.jpeg">

    ..."try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_fUNytIcRAS8/SvG-PsMF8vI/AAAAAAAALis/uXqcc50IRBs/s1600-h/photo6.jpeg">

    I'm not 100 sure what I am going to plant but I am mainly thinking about tulips, then planting other plants their so each season a new plant will come up and keep having color all years. I also might add pumpkin seed their to grow my own pumpkins.

    I also wanted to make the front look a little better so I extended the front flower bed. It's not complete, I'm just making sure I have it the way I like it before adding mulch and plants. I put down some pine needles left over from the pine tree I cut down just to make it look a little better then dirt/mud.

    Previous look
    ..."try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_fUNytIcRAS8/SvG6ruom_1I/AAAAAAAALhM/Wqmjg9nIUrI/s1600-h/photo.jpeg">

    1st flower bed I made for the side area, and if you look right before the patio their was some other concrete step type of look which I didn't like.
    ..."try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_fUNytIcRAS8/SvG6q29Wa7I/AAAAAAAALhE/4AQV9eSR9n8/s1600-h/photo2.jpeg">

    I started to take out the concrete stepping blocks, but found out they were actually cinder blocks. One had a cut, on had a old plastic bowl, and most were just small gravel and dirty/mud. My only guess was to keep grass and weed from coming on top the patio, but dirt, weed, or anything else comes on the left side between the house and garage part where the stone isn't so I think it was just a cheap thing.
    ..."try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_fUNytIcRAS8/SvG6qgvFt6I/AAAAAAAALg8/jnc4cxpdg4I/s1600-h/photo3.jpeg">

    The concrete blocks

    ..."try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_fUNytIcRAS8/SvG6qQrmSHI/AAAAAAAALgs/SR1gD9OuvP8/s1600-h/photo5.jpeg">

    Then I marked the new area I was thinking about adding the new flower bed so I could get a better look and I liked it so I tilled up the area.
    ..."try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_fUNytIcRAS8/SvG62xZ3wsI/AAAAAAAALhs/r1dx46yBU64/s1600-h/photo7.jpeg">

    After tilled and adding pine needles (just temp)
    ..."try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_fUNytIcRAS8/SvG62kFIGZI/AAAAAAAALhc/NzcOImC0h14/s1600-h/photo9.jpeg">

    Now new look, and I added a couple of stepping stones (temp) so you can walk to the patio and yard without stepping in mud/dirt/pine needles. I am going to get 1 big stepping stone when I mulch.
    ..."try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_fUNytIcRAS8/SvG6-y7c_NI/AAAAAAAALh8/lj_eXgfx-Ps/s1600-h/photo11.jpeg">

    Last couple of days cleaning up back yard

    I have taken of this week and I have been doing some things around the house, mainly outside yard wok related.

    Before (the branches from the pine cut I cut down a while back I put in the corner)
    ..."try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_fUNytIcRAS8/SvG1YvXQSPI/AAAAAAAALfM/GqmdeRibCTA/s1600-h/photo.jpeg">

    Before (the logs from the pine tree I cut behind the concrete black left over)
    ..."try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_fUNytIcRAS8/SvG1ZJGHQEI/AAAAAAAALfU/mV4OfbGIzeg/s1600-h/photo2.jpeg">

    I pulled the little green trailer and put two pallets on the frame, just in case I need to slide the the branches off for some reason or slide them to a new spot.
    ..."try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_fUNytIcRAS8/SvG3Dw8wX4I/AAAAAAAALf8/o5kmdt7YGwY/s1600-h/photo.jpeg">

    After moving the logs and wood frame over where the branches were.
    ..."try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_fUNytIcRAS8/SvG3D-ArC2I/AAAAAAAALf0/_iAi6MJxUdw/s1600-h/photo2.jpeg">

    After moving the log rack i opens the area up a little
    ..."try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_fUNytIcRAS8/SvG3DjwDDWI/AAAAAAAALfs/xYnP-TMDKqU/s1600-h/photo3.jpeg">

    After moving the bigger logs over. It kind of makes a L shape, and some day I will ut a horseshoe pit in the middle
    ..."try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_fUNytIcRAS8/SvG3DR6uoMI/AAAAAAAALfk/3ALtsesQ2Y8/s1600-h/photo4.jpeg">

    It looks better after moving everything around.
    ..."try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_fUNytIcRAS8/SvG3DCAzJ0I/AAAAAAAALfc/l_8h-cMAqgM/s1600-h/photo5.jpeg">

    ..."try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_fUNytIcRAS8/SvG3SScLMVI/AAAAAAAALgk/cdxsK8EfxRg/s1600-h/photo6.jpeg">

    I went back and tilled up some area around the concrete because I am going to ad some wood around it and make a raised flower bed so you don't see the concrete block left over from a previous project. I didn't jack hammer the concrete block because electricity is ran to it an I'm not sure how and I don't want to cut any lines.
    ..."try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_fUNytIcRAS8/SvG3SGmAx_I/AAAAAAAALgc/2go00W2TR5Y/s1600-h/photo7.jpeg">

    Looking better so far but not done

    New Dwarf Burning Bush in Front

    Thursday, September 17, 2009, 10:46 PM EST [General]

    I finally decided on one part of the front area of the house. I went ahead and made a little bit of a flower bed in the front right area of the house. I tilled the area, which I found had a lot of small rocks. I added 3 dwarf burning bushes, whichI went ahead and paid a little more for th bigger 3 gallon size at Lowes, they should look kind of cool during the winter when they turn red.

    I still need to finish it completely with adding a little border to keep weeds out and keep the mulch in the area and not washed away since I put a weed barrel sheet down and put mulch on top of it. And I think I am going to put 1-2 hostas in front of the burning bushes to help make the bushes stand out more when they turn red.
