My Favorite Plants Cut flowers that grow in zone 7. Dahlias are my #1 but I love almost all flowers, I really love fragrant flowers. I am moving into shrubs and bushes as I age because my energy level is slowly going down. This year I planted my dahlias in rows like a veggie garden so I could care for it better, but it made an easy target for the earwigs and we are having a war and I and the dahlias are losing !!
Plants Currently in My Garden All flowers, mostly for cut flowers, dahlias, daphne odora, lilacs, calendula, bachelor's buttons, cleome, roses, marigolds, lilies, sunfowers of many kinds, many more !!
I love to garden, because.... I have always loved to have my hands in the dirt, even as a kid. I rarely wear gloves unless it is around the rose thorns. It is wonderful therapy for me, and I sell my flowers in my small city on a card table out front for only .10 each, they just drop the money in the jar and they LOVE it, I have been doing this for 15 years and it is more like a ministry. It just pays the water bill for me, but the joy it brings others and the stories I can tell, it warms my heart :) I also take them to businesses that are very nice to me and they LOVE them.
Biggest Gardening Challenge My health, I have CFIDS, next right now is earwigs. And I don't have an inground watering system so it is move the hoses game !
If I'm not gardening, I can be found: sewing, sleeping (CFIDS) , watching sports on TV, making Jesus shirts to sell on ebay.
Other Hobbies sewing, crafting, grand children :)

Hi Wendy. Thanks for your comments on my Fun in the Garden posting. Glad you enjoyed it. If there is one thing I have trouble with it is taking rose cuttings and getting them to grow. I live in Northern Colorado, Zone 5. I have a friend on another gardening site that may be able to help you though. She goes by the name of Seil. Check out www.gardenbuddies.com and go to the roses in the garden area. Post your question and she will likely post some help for you on the cuttings.

Hi again Wendy. I grow about 50 rosebushes but we have other flower beds including a little wildflower garden that is a real joy. Even grow a few veggies.

Hi Wendy. The peach colored rose could be one named Pat Austin, that is a beauty as well. Keep trying with the roses, they are so very nice to have in the garden!

Welcome Wendy, your flowers and photos are beautiful. I am glad Jamie was able to help with your earwig problem.
